A Celebration of Autumn at the Old German School

The public is invited to the Old German School for “A Celebration of Autumn”, beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 29th. The event will feature the popular Sharp Creek Musicians, and Rosemarie Felts will discuss her experiences as an immigrant coming to America as a young woman from Germany. Refreshments will be served. There is no admission fee.
The Old German School is located on the Wabash-Huntington County Line Road, 3995 N – 1000W, Andrews, or 3 miles north of US 24 West of Huntington. For more information contact: 260.356.4218.
The German School was constructed in 1887 by members of the St. Paul’s German Evangelical Synod to provide area youth with religious education in the German language. The school continued until WWI and was later used as the St. Paul’s Parish Hall. After falling into disrepair, the building has been restored and now contains exhibits and information on the history of the large German Settlement which once existed in the area.
