An Evening with John Trook

Popular antiques dealer, John Trook, will present a proram at the Old German School on May 21 at 7 p.m. Trook, a lif-long resident of Huntington, is known for his close friendship with Amish communities. He is also highly regarded as an antiques expert throughout northeastern Indiana. The informal gathering will touch on a variety of stories from Trook’s rich life experiences.The program is free and refreshments will be provided. For more information contact: 260.356-4218.
The Old German School is located on the Wabash-Huntington County Line Road, 3995 N – 1000W or 3 miles north of US 24 West of Huntington.
The German School was built in 1887 by members of the St. Paul’s German Evangelical Church to provide area youth with religious education in the German language. The school continued until WWI and was later used as the St. Paul’s Parish Hall. After falling into disrepair, the building has been restored and now contains exhibits and information on the history of the large German Settlement which once existed in the area.
