The Historic Forks of the Wabash is pleased to announce that it will once again be sponsoring an Old Fashioned Fourth of July program on the grounds of the historic park. The program will begin at 9:30 am with a concert by the Erie Band. There will also be a presentation of the flags by local veterans. The guest speaker for this year’s event will be Rosemarie Felts from Lagro, Indiana. Mrs. Felts grew up in Germany during World War II and will be sharing what it was like to come to the United States following the war, experience and learn a new culture, a new language, and learn about freedom. She will share the process she went through to become a citizen of the Untied States, something she cherishes and is thankful for each day. The program will conclude with the playing and singing of “God Bless America”. Tours of some of the buildings located at the historic park will take place from 11:15 – 12:30 pm.
There is no charge to attend, but donations will be accepted. Seating is available under the pavilion, but it is recommended that you bring a chair so that you are sure to have a spot!
