DESCRIPTION:It’s National Kids to Parks Day! Spend a day filled with kid-themed activities at Salamonie Lake’s interpretive center (IC)\, located in Lost Bridge West SRA\, May 18. Events schedule: - 10 a.m. - Kids scavenger hunt on the Turkey Cove Trail. Meet at IC to pick up supplies and instructions. - 11 a.m. - Critter Talk and lunch at IC shelter. Bring your lunch and enjoy songs\, games\, and a live animal presentation. - 1 - 3 p.m. - Crafts at the IC. Make an owl\, eagle\, or kestrel to take home. - 3 - 4 p.m. - Volunteer in the Nature Play Area\, near the IC Butterfly Garden\, to help prepare for future upgrades. Bring closed-toe shoes\, gloves. Additional information: - Dress for the weather\, much of the time will be spent outside. - Those under age 10 must have an adult present. - Sponsored by Friends of Upper Wabash Interpretive Services. - For more information\, call the IC at 260-468-2127. No advance registration necessary. - No program fee\; program donations accepted. - Property entrance fees apply: $7 per in-state vehicle\; $9 per out-of-state vehicle.
