DESCRIPTION:Salamonie Lake will offer two separate Eagle Watches Feb. 8 and 15\, from 3:30 p.m. – dusk. Each will meet at the Upper Wabash Interpretive Center\, located in Salamonie Lake’s Lost Bridge West SRA. Interested participants should call and speak to UWIS staff to register and choose a date. Participants will tour some of the areas where eagles are often viewed\, followed by an eagle program with a campfire at one of our shelters. Hotdogs and treats will be available for free will donation\, sponsored by Friends of Upper Wabash Interpretive Services. Participants will also meet a bird of prey from Salamonie Lake’s Raptor Center. Upon arrival\, participants may visit the interpretive center’s restrooms and return to vehicles to prepare for the caravan. - Participants should dress for the weather\; if available\, bring binoculars\, cameras\, and spotting scopes. - Shared visual aids will be available onsite. - Be sure to have plenty of fuel in your gas tank. We will caravan. - There will be some walking on flat surfaces. Those who need accessible parking should request it upon registration. For more information and to register call (260) 468-2127.
