DESCRIPTION:Experience the beautiful Marsh and Tree trails as a participant of the Tree Trail Trot 5K Race on Aug. 22. A pancake breakfast is also served up by Salamonie Lake’s Friends of Upper Wabash Interpretive Services that morning for free will donation. Fresh sweet corn will be available for purchase the evening of Aug. 21 at Salamonie’s Lost Bridge West SRA entrance gate as well. Participants may register either online or on the day of the event. Online registration ends Aug. 21\, 11:59 p.m. Cost is $25 per race participant. Cash or check made out to Friends of UWIS (to use a card the day of the event will be $26). Registration can be found here: runsignup.com/Race/IN/Andrews/TreeTrailTrot Event schedule: Friday\, Aug. 21: Evening sweet corn sales at Lost Bridge West SRA entrance gate. Saturday\, Aug. 22: Salamonie Lake\, 9214 Lost Bridge West Road\, Andrews\, 46702. 7:30 – 8 a.m. – Check-in and final registration at Wildlife Management Pond shelter. 8:30 a.m. – Start of the race at the Wildlife Management Pond shelter. 9- 10:30 a.m. – Pancake breakfast at the Wildlife Management Pond shelter. Breakfast is free to registered runners and a freewill donation from the public. 10 a.m. – Race awards will be announced. There will be prizes for the first\, second\, and third place males and females. This race is friendly and open to runners and walkers of all ages. Children aged 10 and under should be accompanied by an adult. Well socialized dogs on 6-foot or shorter leashes welcome. Strollers are not advised due to uneven trails\, hills\, and steps.
