Exploring Huntington County One Stop at a Time: The Huntington County Trolley Tour
What happens when you load up a trolley with 34 people and spend the day exploring Huntington County?
You get great food, local wine, small-town events, plenty of laughs and a chance to experience Huntington County from a completely different point of view.
On August 22, Visit Huntington hosted our first Huntington County Trolley Tour aboard Trolley No. 85. The idea was simple: bring people together and show them just how much there is to discover throughout Huntington County, Indiana.
And we packed a lot into one day.
First Stop: Rustic River Outfitters
Our Huntington County adventure began at Rustic River Outfitters, where guests enjoyed wine and had time to explore.
It was the perfect way to kick off the tour and gave everyone a chance to settle in, mingle and get ready for the day ahead.
One of the things we wanted this tour to highlight was the variety of experiences visitors can find throughout Huntington County. From locally owned businesses to outdoor recreation, food, wine and community events, sometimes the best places are the ones waiting to be discovered just down the road.
Wine, Flatbread and Slushies at Two-EE's Winery
Next, we headed to Two-EE's Winery for another taste of Huntington County.
Guests enjoyed flatbread pizza along with Two-EE's popular wine slushies before having some time to enjoy the winery.
Two-EE's has become a favorite destination for both Huntington County residents and visitors, making it a natural stop on our countywide trolley adventure.
And yes, the wine slushies were definitely a hit!
Discovering Downtown Andrews
Then it was time to hop back aboard Trolley No. 85 and head to Andrews, Indiana.
Our visit happened during Andrews Community Day, giving our trolley guests an opportunity to experience one of Huntington County's small-town celebrations firsthand.
Guests could walk around, enjoy the live entertainment and experience the community atmosphere that makes our Huntington County towns special.
That was an important part of the Trolley Tour. This wasn't just about traveling from attraction to attraction. It was about introducing people to the communities, businesses and people that make Huntington County what it is.
Rolling into Warren
Our final destination took us to Warren, Indiana, where the Warren Car Show was underway.
Classic cars, community activity and a lively downtown made Warren a fun way to wrap up our stops for the day.
By this point, our trolley had traveled across Huntington County and our guests had experienced wineries, locally owned businesses, food, entertainment and two community events, all without having to worry about driving from place to place.
A Little Huntington County Bingo Along the Way
Of course, we couldn't just sit on the trolley between stops.
Guests received a Huntington County Bingo Card that encouraged them to interact with businesses and destinations throughout the tour.
Our bingo adventure included HomeCraft Gifts & More, Coffee Bean Counter, Legends Sports Bar, Bend the Trend, The Place to Bee and Kermit's in Andrews, along with activities at Rustic River and Two-EE's.
It was a fun way to introduce even more Huntington County businesses and experiences throughout the day.
More Than a Trolley Ride
The Huntington County Trolley Tour was created to do something a little different.
We wanted people to experience Huntington County as a destination.
Sometimes we drive through the same towns and down the same roads without realizing how many interesting places, businesses and experiences are right around us.
The Trolley Tour gave us an opportunity to connect those places.
From Huntington to Andrews and Warren, every stop offered something different, but they all shared something in common: the people and small-town hospitality that make Huntington County special.
Thank You for Making the First Tour Possible
Our first Huntington County Trolley Tour wouldn't have been possible without the businesses, communities, organizations and sponsors who helped bring it together.
Thank you to Rustic River Outfitters, Two-EE's Winery, Andrews Community Day and the Warren Car Show for welcoming our trolley guests.
We also appreciate the support of HomeCraft Gifts & More, Huntington County Economic Development, Legends Sports Bar, Coffee Bean Counter and Bend the Trend, along with everyone who helped make the day possible.
And most importantly, thank you to everyone who climbed aboard Trolley No. 85 and joined us for the ride.
