The theme for April, 🍃 A Fresh Chapter, couldn’t have been more fitting. As spring breathed new life into the streets, so did a vibrant mix of local vendors, fresh produce, makers, and storytellers. From handcrafted goods to meaningful conversations, the evening felt like the start of something lasting.
At the heart of it all was a simple but powerful idea: celebrate local. Whether it was discovering a new favorite vendor, supporting a small business, or connecting with neighbors, every moment reflected the pride and energy that defines Huntington.
More Than a Market—A Monthly Experience
Market on Main Street isn’t just a one-time event. It’s a full seasonal experience happening every third Friday from April through October, inviting both residents and visitors to make Downtown Huntington a destination.
From 3–7 PM, the streets come alive with:
- Local shopping and exclusive in-store specials
- Farmers market favorites and fresh finds
- Food trucks and delicious bites
- Activities and live entertainment
And just when you think the night is winding down—After Hours (7–9 PM) keeps the energy going with unique evening experiences throughout downtown.

Small Businesses at the Center
One of the most impactful parts of Market on Main is the spotlight on our small businesses. These shops are the backbone of downtown, and during each event they step forward with:
- Exclusive promotions

- Creative, event-only experiences
The first event even included a special giveaway at Turn the Page Books & Music, rewarding early shoppers with tote bags filled with gifts from fellow local businesses—a perfect example of collaboration over competition.
Growing Together: Investing in Beauty & Experience

While we proudly celebrate the beauty of downtown, there’s also a commitment to making it even better. Through a community-driven effort, Huntington Main Street has launched a Patronicity campaign to upgrade downtown’s planters, hanging baskets, and watering systems.
The goal?
- Replace aging planters with smart watering planters
- Upgrade hanging baskets with sustainable solutions
- Invest in a new watering vehicle
These improvements will not only enhance the look of downtown but also ensure it thrives for years to come.
And here’s the exciting part: through the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority CreatINg Places program, every dollar raised can be matched if the campaign reaches its goal.
