Drover Park is 5.34 acres in size and contains the Stanton E. Cope Memorial Playground as well as the Terry Abbett Slash Pad, a zero-depth spray park with varied and colorful water sprayers to cool off.
The brand new accessible playground at Drover Park is officially installed and open - just in time for summer fun. And yes, the Terry R. Abbett Splash Park is up and running too! My boys and I were finally able to check it out today! 🙂
This update isn’t just about new equipment. It’s about making sure every kid... regardless of ability...can play, explore, and be part of the fun...and stay safe while they're at it. Accessibility isn’t an add-on, it’s a necessity for so many families in our community. And seeing this space come to life is something we’re truly proud to be part of.
A huge thank you to Pathfinder - To The Fullest The Community Foundation of Huntington County Josh Hart and his family, and the Psi Iota Xi Sorority for championing this project. Your support means everything — not just to the city, but to the families who now get to experience this park without barriers.
If you haven’t been to Drover Park in a while, make a point to stop by this week. It’s more than a park now ...it’s a space where everyone belongs.
