Horse Riders Reunion, Salamonie Lake, Sept. 22-24. We’re saddling up at Lost Bridge West Horseman’s Campground! Bring your own horses and a silent auction item to help the fundraiser, Power the Camp, Sept. 22-24. While bringing a horse is not mandatory to attend the event, horse enthusiasts are invited to bring their horses to camp the weekend or enjoy a day ride. There are no horse rentals at Salamonie Lake.
This year’s events are as follows - click on the flyer for details.
Friday:
6:30 p.m. – Presenting the Colors – a horse-ridden parade. Meet at 6 p.m. at Day Ride Area to participate.
7 p.m. – “Cowboy Coffee” and Cobbler.
Saturday:
9 a.m. – 4 p.m. – Salamonie Amazing Adventure. Pick up a map for this mounted game challenge. - 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. – Trash Bash. In honor of National Public Lands Day, fill a provided trash bag with trash around camp and on the trails for prize drawing tickets.
10 a.m. – 6 p.m. – Silent Auction. Donate new or gently used equine items. (Be sure look for the homemade quilt!)
5:30 p.m. – Carry-in Meal, Baked Potato Bar provided – Bring a side dish to share, your table setting, and drinks.
6 p.m. – Silent Auction Wrap-up; Power the Camp update.
7 p.m. – Entertainment at the fire. Bring a lawn chair.
Sunday:
9 a.m. – Door prize winners announced at the big tents.
Trail riders: A Horse Tag is required and available for purchase at entrance gate - daily ($5) or annual ($20). Camp reservations may be made at www.camp.IN.gov
Property entrance fees apply: $7 per in-state vehicle; $9 per out-of-state vehicle.
This is a Friends of Upper Wabash Interpretive Services event, raising funds to bring electric power to Salamonie Lake’s Lost Bridge West SRA Horsemen’s Campground.
