Join us next Wed., Nov. 1 from 6-7 p.m. for Living on Indigenous Landscapes, a special presentation from Indiana Humanities speaker Dr. Luke Gascho, executive director of Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center of Goshen College for 22 years.
November is Native American Heritage Month, and the history of land in North America is most commonly viewed through the eyes of those who colonized our continent. Rarely do we hear from the voices of those Indigenous peoples, to gain insight on their culture and the actions taken to preserve and restore their lands. Topics included in Dr. Luke’s discussion include the pre-1492 continent, interactions between Indigenous peoples and early settlers, and current actions that can lead to right relationships between people and the land.
