Solar Eclipse 2024 at Salamonie Lake, April 6 - 8
The Great American Eclipse on April 8 will sweep across much of Indiana giving people an opportunity to witness a rare, once-in-a-lifetime event. Throughout the afternoon on April 8, all of Indiana will be able to see the moon gradually pass in front of the sun, dimming the daytime sky. In a 70-mile-wide path, stretching from the southwest to the northeast of the state, the moon will completely block the sun resulting in a total solar eclipse. We invite you to camp at Salamonie Lake and enjoy the many activities leading up to this amazing natural phenomenon through the weekend and then travel to a remote location inside the “Zone of Totality.” Campers and weekend activity participants will receive remote location information throughout the weekend.
