Come to WPL on Saturday, October 24 between 10 am and 2 pm to paint a canvas tote bag. Teens and adults will use acrylic paints, while kids ages 5 and up will have acrylic paint markers. As these materials stain, younger children must have a parent’s assistance. This is a free, drop-in program, but make sure you come early enough to finish your masterpiece! When you’re done, you’ll have a one-of-a-kind tote, perfect for trick-or-treat candy, library books, or whatever else you want to haul around. Totes are provided.

Parkview Huntington Family YMCA Invites Community to Participate in Free Fall Festival on October 24 Event will feature $0 enrollment fee to join the YMCA and animals from Huntington Humane Society for adoption consideration Huntington, IN. —On Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 10:30am to 1:00pm the YMCA will be offering their free annual Fall Festival. This annual YMCA and Huntington-community event will feature free family-friendly fall-themed activities, obstacle courses, carnival games, fall arts and crafts and healthy snacks at the YMCA facility. Huntington area agencies and businesses will be on-hand to provide these kid-friendly activities and snacks. Attendees are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes! The YMCA will feature a membership special all day as those interested in joining the YMCA. Those who join will save $75 off the typical enrollment fee as the joiner’s fee will be waived all day on October 24. Throughout the event, food trucks will also be onsite for those who would like to purchase a drink, heartier snack or meal. Area food trucks scheduled to be at the YMCA include: JB’s Cuisine Machine, BrisketKase BBQ and Grace’s Roasted Bean Coffee Trailer. The Huntington County Humane Society will be onsite with puppies and kittens available for adoption. Fall Festival attendees can visit with the animals and begin the adoption process to adopt their next furr-ever friend, if interested. Families are also encouraged to bring pet supplies to help support the important work of the Huntington Humane Society. If you’d like specific details of the supply needs, a wish list of the Humane Society can be found on their website: www.huntingtonhumane.org. All those who contribute to the pet supply drive will be entered to win a fun prize, courtesy of the YMCA. The Parkview Huntington Family YMCA’s Fall Festival will take place both inside and outside at their facility located at 1160 W 500 N, Huntington. In the case of inclement weather, all activities (except the food trucks) will be moved inside.

Community member Jane Witt will be holding twice monthly events at the Markle branch on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays. She'll teach anyone who wishes to attend how to embroider—supplies provided! Attendees can also bring their own needlework crafts and enjoy community, conversation, and peer help with projects.
