You’ll love cheering each other on as you soar through the air on zip lines and across aerial bridges, clouds and their climbing tunnel. The grand finale is a 1000′ zip across their beautiful lake. Make a weekend of it and reserve a campsite or one of their new glamping cabins and grab dinner and drinks in one of our area restaurants or pubs.
Water and Wine - Kayak River Adventure
A hidden gem in NE Indiana is Rustic River Outfitters, located right on the Salamonie River and ten short minutes outside of Huntington. They are one part winery/hangout spot and one part outdoor fun! Schedule the gang for one of their canoe or kayak river adventures. Routes can be as long as 18 miles or as short as 4 miles. You decide on the adventure you are willing to take! Afterwards, spend the remainder of the day kicking back at Rustic River doing wine tastings, wine flights or sipping on slushies or craft beer in their relaxed indoor and outdoor spaces. Stay for dinner or head into the City of Huntington to experience their expanding downtown foodie scene. Camp at nearby Salamonie Lake (DNR) or schedule an overnight at one of Huntington’s hotels, Bed and Breakfasts or unique vacation rentals.
Lake Life and Outdoor Adventures
Girls just wanna have lakeside adventures including boat rentals, hiking, swimming and camping! Organize your best weekend by renting boats from Pirates Cove Marina at Salamonie Lake that can be scheduled online in advance. They offer paddleboats, kayaks, pontoons, fishing boats and party barges so that you can select what works best for your group. Then plot your campsite directly on the DNR website. You’ll have a great time lounging on their sandy beach, exploring scenic trails and appreciating all the amenities of a State DNR property.
Wine Tasting Tour
Take a break from your week and head out on a wine tour across Huntington County. Sample wines from award winning Two-EE’s Winery and spend time on their beautiful enclosed patio that’s open year round. It’s close to tons of shopping and dining options if you want to take a break before heading out to your next stop. Head southwest of Huntington just a few minutes to Rustic River Outfitters where you can enjoy wine tastings and flights. Plan in advance and add in a kayak rental before your tasting. Make your final wine tasting stop at Dash-90 Wines. Select your favorites and then spend the day kicked back on their big wrap around porch. Drink responsibly and consider scheduling an overnight at one of our area lodging properties and combining your wine tour with shopping, dining and other area amenities.
