Children will be offered a Touch-a-Truck experience to discover the tools these professionals use at Salamonie Lake and in area communities.
The event begins with a ribbon cutting for a newly completed accessible family restroom featuring an adult size motorized changing table designed to make the interpretive center more accessible for people with disabilities. For safe transfer, the changing surface adjusts from as low as 12 inches to as high as 41 inches from the floor and supports up to 500 pounds. The bathroom also supplies a shower facility
Welcome Candy Evans to the L4L Community of instructors
Hi everyone!!! My name is Candy Evans, and I am excited to teach kickboxing at L4L Community Studios. I’m a certified personal trainer who truly believes the body is meant to move. I’m certified in Les Mills BodyCombat, BodyPump, core training, and spin, and I love helping people feel stronger, more confident, and more capable through consistent movement. I have a deep love for running and lifting and strongly believe in cross-training to keep the body balanced, healthy, and injury-free.
I’m especially passionate about group exercise and the energy that comes from moving together—support, accountability, and having fun while working hard. For me, exercise is just as important for mental health as it is for physical strength, helping reduce stress and improve overall quality of life. Outside the gym, you’ll usually find me running, hiking, reading, or spending time with my family—especially in my newest role as a proud grandmother to Penelope.
I hope to see you Wednesdays at 5:30pm!! We will punch and kick our way to a healthier version of ourselves!

The Senior Luncheon will be held at noon, July 3 at the Salamonie Lake Interpretive Center, located in Lost Bridge West SRA. Anyone age 50 or older is welcome to attend.
Upper Wabash Interpretive Staff celebrates America’s 250th year at the luncheon by presenting live native birds of prey from the Salamonie Raptor Center. Interpretive Naturalist Teresa Rody said, “Our native birds of prey are one of the many success stories of our country’s care for the environment. Participants will get to see these birds up close and hear about other birds not in the care of the Salamonie Raptor Center, such as bald eagles and osprey.”
